Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is keen to win more ahead of the Community Shield 

As Liverpool gets ready to play Manchester City, Egyptian international Mohamed Salah said that he is desperate to claim the Community Shield title in a recent interview as quoted by Liverpool Echo.

In the much-awaited game that could set the store for what is to come, Liverpool, the FA Cup champions, will travel to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium to face Pep Guardiola’s champions. Salah will look to start the 2022–2023 season by adding the Community Shield championship to his collection of trophies.

Salah played in the Community Shield matchups against Manchester City and Arsenal in 2019 and 2020 at Wembley Stadium. Both games finished in a 1-1 draw. But Liverpool fell 5-4 on penalties both times. Hopefully, it will be third time lucky for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Now the Egyptian star suggested that even though he has literally won every title at Liverpool, he is hungry for more. It bodes well for us ahead of the new season.

“I’ve won almost everything with the team. I didn’t notice that until Trent [Alexander-Arnold] came up to me after the FA Cup final and said: ‘By the way, we have won pretty much everything here’. So I think I have won almost everything at Liverpool, collectively and individually, but there is always room to win more and I always want to win something for a second or third or fourth time. That’s my mentality.”

After Senegal defeated them in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations final, Salah did not have the best of times in the second half of the previous season.

Nevertheless, the Egyptian ended up with 23 goals and 14 assists in 35 Premier League outings for Liverpool last season. The 30-year-old is currently at the top of his game and doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.

Salah’s comments on winning should open the eyes of Liverpool supporters to the possibility of further glory. The 30-year-old has made a name for himself as the Reds’ go-to goal scorer during his time. Now that he has signed a new contract, Salah might be even more motivated to succeed.

For Liverpool to win the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, the FA Cup, and the Carabao Cup next season, Salah will need to be at the top of his game.
