According to the Daily Star (h/t Liverpool Echo), Arsenal and Chelsea have joined Liverpool in the race to land 19 year old Villarreal striker Yeremy Pino.
The London giants are the latest sides to join the race for the Spanish youngster. The right footed winger, who recently penned down a long-term contract with Villarreal, committing his future at the Estadio De La Ceramica.
Pino’s versatility to play anywhere in the front three has made him a transfer target for top European clubs. The Spaniard, who has also featured for the senior national team four times has a goal and an assist for La Furia Roja.
For Villarreal, Pino has scored 14 goals and made five assists in 77 appearances across all competitions. Most of his best performances have come while playing on the right flank.
At just 19, he can play second fiddle to anyone from Liverpool’s potent attack which is a role similar to that of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz for Sadio Mane, when they had just made the move to Merseyside.
Arsenal and Chelsea have a plethora of youthful options in attack, and adding Pino would do the London clubs a world of good. Premier League champions Manchester City are keeping tabs
on the young forward.Having played an integral role in The Yellow Submarine winning the UEFA Europa League in 2021, Pino is showing all the signs of enjoying a very promising future. If he continues to impress, the queue of teams lining up to land him will only increase.
With Liverpool having enough options in attack, signing the young Spaniard is not a priority. But given the market dynamics, it remains to be seen if the Reds will be drawn into making a move of their own.
