Christian Falk claims Liverpool will try to sign Bundesliga star next year

Christian Falk claims Liverpool will try to sign Bundesliga star Jude Bellingham next year

According to Christian Falk of BILD, Liverpool will try to sign Jude Bellingham in 2023. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder had been linked with the Reds this summer along with Real Madrid.

However, it has been widely claimed that the England international would not be sold before at least 2023. That has proven to be the case, as the 19-year-old stayed at Westfalenstadion beyond the transfer window deadline.

Falk appeared on Fabrizio Romano’s show as a guest where he was asked a series of questions by the Italian transfer expert. One of these questions was if the Reds would make a move for Bellingham next year.

And to that, Falk claimed that they will. The journo specialises in German football and this affirmation would come as music to the ears of Liverpool fans.

LFC need to make top four this season

Our midfield was once again the topic of discussion in our 4-1 loss against Napoli yesterday in the UEFA Champions League. James Milner, who continues to start for us despite his age, was the culprit when he handed a penalty to the Naples-based side in the first half.

Three more goals followed before Luis Diaz’s goal served as a consolation strike for us. Former Fulham star Zambo Abguissa and new signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia taught our midfield a proper lesson.

The former was solid on and off the ball while the latter was giving Fabinho a very hard time. Liverpool ideally needed a new midfielder last summer itself when we lost Georginio Wijnaldum.

Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho are good signings but these young lads aren’t natural central midfielders and those who watch them play would acknowledge that while their lissome movements are a result of their bijou physique, it does hinder their ability to become defensive powerhouses in central midfield.

More Liverpool News:

Bellingham would be a very, very good signing if we do manage to sign him but it remains to be seen if the Reds manage to qualify for UEFA Champions League next season. If we don’t, it’s anyone’s guess if the former Birmingham City midfielder would want to play for a team not playing in the UCL.
