Liverpool make ‘initial moves’ to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund
Journalist Kevin Palmer claims that Liverpool have made ‘initial moves’ to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. The Reds are in for a lot of competition in their pursuit of signing the 19-year-old, which is understandable given his hype (h/t Liverpool Echo).
In fact, the midfielder is one of the hottest properties in the world right now. Accordingly, Dortmund have valued their midfielder in excess of £100m. And hence, it would not be easy for any team that wants to sign him.
He has shown his quality for England and the Black and Yellow despite just being a teenager and is already a regular part of both teams. Gareth Southgate has named him in the latest England for the UEFA Nations League fixtures this month.
Palmer wrote on Twitter of Liverpool’s ‘moves’ for their long-term transfer interest. Very recently, against Manchester City in the Premier League, Bellingham was highly impressive, showing he has what it takes to succeed against England’s toughest teams.
When prompted about a move to the Premier League as early as this winter window, he was quick to dismiss everything and devoted his time to the Bundesliga giants, saying he is “not looking beyond” the present moment.
The England international has been crucial to each team he has played in his career so far. The youngster shows all the qualities of having a bright future, given he plays on the same level for a consistent period.
With the midfield injuries and the ageing squad Liverpool currently have at their disposal, it would make sense to get hold of a player of Bellingham’s stature as soon as possible as it solves both their pertaining issues.

The Reds have been patient and haven’t signed a natural senior central midfielder despite Georginio Wijnaldum’s move last summer and the declining form of Henderson. The only way such patience may make sense to some fans is if we sign a midfielder that is of Bellingham’s quality.
