Injury Update: Jordan Henderson added to England squad after passing fit

According to the Mail’s Dom King, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been added to the England squad for the games against Italy and Germany after clearing a number of medical tests and passing fit.

Henderson has been missing out on action for the Reds for quite some time now. The club captain suffered an injury which kept him out of action for quite a few weeks but it looks like he is back, fit and ready to go.

One of the many players who have been missing for Liverpool in recent times, the Reds have been going through a mini-injury crisis. Klopp’s men find themselves extremely understaffed in midfield.

The Reds even signed Arthur Melo on loan on deadline day to help solve some of their injury issues. However, it is safe to say that the Brazilian has not made an impact yet, with Arthur still not up to speed.

It comes as a welcome boost for Liverpool that their talismanic captain is back from his injury but they will be sceptical about the English midfielder playing for the national team so soon after returning.

Whilst being in the squad doesn’t really mean that Gareth Southgate is going to make the Liverpool captain play in both matches, it is a possibility that Henderson is given minutes off the bench.

Curtis Jones has suffered yet another injury setback and Thiago Alcantara has just returned from a layoff. Considering the situation, the return of Jordan Henderson could not have come at a better time for Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool have not really set the stage alight this season either in the Premier League or the Champions League. It’s high time for the Reds to show what they are capable of and get back to where they belong.

Liverpool will be hoping Henderson gets back from the international break fit and firing and also hope that the others don’t pick up any new injuries in the near future.
