Paul Robinson feels Jude Bellingham will suit Liverpool
Speaking in an interview with Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo), former English footballer Paul Robinson has claimed that he thinks Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham who Liverpool have been heavily linked with, would perfectly fit into a Jurgen Klopp system.
Liverpool’s interest in the teenage sensation is no new news with the talented midfielder being heavily linked with a transfer to one of the Premier League giants next summer. Such has been Bellingham’s meteoric rise in recent seasons that he is arguably considered one of the best U-20 players in the world.
A regular starter at Borussia Dortmund, Bellingham is all you can ask for from a midfielder. He is the perfect box-to-box midfielder who can get forward and attack, chip in with goals and assists but also manage to do a good job defensively.
Such is Bellingham’s quality and the kind of game he has shown and is still showing during his time at Dortmund that there is no doubt that Liverpool will not be the only club interested in securing the services of Jude Bellingham come next season.
The teenage starlet joined Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020. It was a move that garnered a lot of attention for the wrong reasons with the selling club retiring the jersey that Bellingham wore during his time at the club.
Speaking about Jude Bellingham and the prospect of the midfielder playing for Liverpool, Robinson said.
“He just fits in at Liverpool. The way that he plays and the system Klopp plays, it is a great fit. Bellingham is an incredibly talented footballer. He still has his best years ahead of him. He already has an unbelievable reputation. His charisma on the ball is something special. I love watching him.”
Anyone who watches Bellingham play will know that the 19-year-old shows maturity beyond his age on the football pitch. It is safe to say that he will show the same kind of maturity at Anfield and be a key cog for Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool’s midfield has left a lot to be desired in recent seasons. Most players are getting on in age and injuries have plagued the department. There is also a feeling that with the exception of Thiago Alcantara, the midfield is getting rather one-dimensional.
