“Will do very well”- Liverpool star’s agent opens up on his fitness ahead of Brighton clash

Federico Pastorello provides positive Arthur Melo fitness claim ahead of Liverpool vs Brighton

26-year-old Arthur Melo joined Liverpool on deadline day earlier this summer. Coming into Merseyside without a proper pre-season behind him, the main task before integration into the first team was for him to get match-fit.

The former Barcelona man has been training with the U21 squad and sought professional help to regain match fitness as soon as possible. His professionalism and dedication to working hard to gain gaffer Jurgen Klopp’s trust have impressed the staff at the club.

Arthur’s agent Federico Pastorello told Calciomercato

(h/t Liverpool Echo) that the Brazilian has recovered and is confident Melo will do well in Liverpool colours.

“He has recovered and is at the complete disposal of the manager. I have no doubt that he will do very well with the Liverpool shirt.”

Agent of Arthur Melo ridicules Liverpool exit rumours.

His only appearance for Liverpool yet came in the 4-1 loss at Napoli wherein he had a brief 13-minute stint. Since then, he has played for the U21 squad in the Papa John’s Trophy and Premier League 2.

Liverpool have the option of making his loan deal permanent for £32.3m. Arthur’s dedication to playing for the Reds is such that the player was working throughout the international break and his off-days to make a case for himself.

With multiple midfielders currently sidelined due to injury, it would not be a shocker if Klopp decides to start Arthur on the bench in the upcoming games. The month of October is very crucial for the Reds, with nine fixtures in the month.

Liverpool staff excited about Arthur Melo’s progress in training.

Player fatigue will become an extremely important point of discussion as the fixtures are getting a bit tight this month because of the World Cup in November.

Given a number of Reds will be out for the international event, player rotations will be very common and one could expect Arthur to feature as early as the Brighton and Hove Albion game.

The Seagulls will visit Anfield on 1 October, in what will be Liverpool’s first game after the international break. After that fixture, Liverpool will travel to Glasgow for their third UEFA Champions League Group stage fixture against Rangers.
