Liverpool are interested in signing ‘the Next Mohammad Salah’

Liverpool show interest in signing Egyptian winger Ibrahim Adel

According to 90min (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool have shown interest in securing the services of Egyptian winger Ibrahim Adel, who has been dubbed the ‘the next Mohammad Salah’ in his native country.

Adel plays for the Egyptian side FC Pyramids and has actually been referred to be looked at by the Egyptian King Mo Salah himself, who has played with the winger for the national team.

Upon Salah’s recommendation, scouts were sent to watch the player and came back impressed with what they saw. It would be rather apt if our current superstar helped the club bring in the next big thing.

At just 21 years of age, Adel has already made 78 appearances for his club in which he has made an impressive 31 goal contributions. This has seen him attract interest from several English clubs such as Arsenal, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest.

Mo Salah knows a thing or two about wingers, having established himself as one of the most lethal players in the position in recent years. Since his transfer from AS Roma to Liverpool, the 30-year-old has scored an astonishing 160 goals and provided 66 assists in all competitions.

He would have certainly been impressed with what he saw of Adel in the national team and although he has made just four

appearances for the national team, it was enough for Salah to recommend the 21-year-old to the scouting department.

FC Pyramids value the player at close to £5m plus add-ons and it is speculated that a January move could be on the cards. acting fast could very well see the Reds land the youngster for a bargain.

However, a major stumbling block that remains is the fact that he has never played competitive football in Europe. Hence the issuance of a work permit

might prove difficult.

We have seen before with Non-European players that issues beyond the club’s control can lead to a deal collapsing. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool would make its interest in the player concrete or choose to move in another direction.
