Liverpool told of two major hurdles in their pursuit of Bayern sensation

Liverpool FC show interest in FC Bayern Munich sensation Jamal Musiala

As per Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany via Twitter, Liverpool’s interest in Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala has multiple stumbling blocks the Reds will need to overcome to see it through.

The 19-year-old German is a product of Chelsea’s Youth Academy and moved to Bayern in 2019 aged 16. Having made his senior debut for Die Roten in 2020 and is today one of Julian Nagelsmann’s most trusted players.

Plettenberg also stated two major issues that the club face if they want to sign Musiala. Firstly, Bayern Munich’s Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic has ruled out selling the 19-year-old. Given how he has performed, that comes as no surprise.

With Bayern effectively ruling out any sales for the player, and secondly, Musiala himself admitting that he does not wish to leave the Bavarian giants makes it tougher than ever for any team trying to sign him. In 90 appearances for Bayern, he has 22 goals and 13 assists.

It is not shocking that there is so much interest in the merely 19-year-old player. His versatility to play several roles makes him an asset. For Bayern, he has played on either the left wing or largely as an attacking midfielder.

Any club would benefit from signing a player of Musiala’s talent pool and skill level. Liverpool are no different. A midfielder is what the club certainly needs at this point in time, and a young one too. The Reds are facing two problems of an ageing midfield and an inconsistent one. Musiala is a stone that could kill these two birds for the Merseysiders.

The chances of Liverpool signing Musiala are slim, to say the least. Hence, the Reds could move for a different player who they think is much more affordable and probably, on the market at this stage.

A midfielder is of utmost importance for the Reds, and it is almost certain that the Merseysiders will bring on board a new body in the middle of the park. Whether they move for Musiala or not, only time would answer.
