Real Madrid accelerate interest in Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham
Spanish publication Marca (h/t Liverpool Echo) states that Real Madrid have locked their interest in Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham. The 19-year-old is someone who could spearhead their midfield for the next few years.
Moreover, the report goes on to add that the Spanish giants have been in touch with Bellingham’s representatives for more than a year. His price tag of £100m is apparently something Madrid could deal with. And with this new development, Liverpool’s interest in Jude Bellingham sees multiple blows.
However, one could argue that Liverpool are in need of Jude’s services more than Los Blancos are at the moment. Real Madrid’s midfield currently consists of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Federico Valverde as their first-choice midfielders.
Aurelien Tchouameni, Edouard Camavinga and Dani Ceballos provide the extra depth Carlo Ancelotti needs. It seems that the next stage of negotiations between Bellingham and Madrid will mostly be made around the financials of the transfer.
However, from Liverpool’s point of view, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita running out of contract in 2023, and no young natural central midfielders at the club apart from Curtis Jones, it is wise for the club to move for a midfielder.
The £100m price tag is the only thing Liverpool need to be wary of in going after Jude. However, this weakness of the Reds is something which Los Blancos do not have to deal with as they do not have an issue with the exorbitant price tag Dortmund have set on their midfielder.
Moreover, with earlier publishings writing that Jude has already decided to move to Santiago Bernabeu, the transfer situation particularly does not look good from Liverpool’s perspective.

With these developments coming through, it seems tougher by the day to pull the deal off to get Bellingham on board at Anfield. But in football, nobody knows for sure.
