According to Calciomercato (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool find themselves linked with Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala once again. This time, even Manchester City are in the race for the youngster making waves in the Bundesliga.
The Reds, in terms of their midfield, are currently in a transition phase and will need good young reinforcements to freshen things up. Musiala is one of the world’s best youngsters and it is no shock to see him linked with the Merseysiders.
Julian Nagelsmann counts Musiala as one of his most trusted players today and often includes him in the matchday XI. The teenager made his Bayern debut in 2020. In 90 appearances for Die Roten since he has 22 goals and 13 assists.
Such is the player’s versatility that Musiala, an attacking midfielder, has played several roles across the midfield and attack for Bayern in merely two years at the club. . It is no surprise that he is one of the Bavarian’s most prized assets and would be reluctant to let him go.
Earlier this week, reports from Sky Germany stated that the player does not wish to leave Bayern anytime in the foreseeable future. Moreover, the Sporting Director, Hasan Salihamidzic also effectively ruled out any move for the teenager.
In such situations, foreseeing a transfer to either Liverpool or Manchester City is obviously out of the question. But having said that, Liverpool need to explore the market further to rope in a new midfielder at the very least.
The Reds have not had a pleasant season up to this point and the loss against Arsenal further emphasizes the need to shake things up in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Presently, with Bayern’s transfer policies, Musiala does not seem to be a realistic transfer option for the Reds. Liverpool and Klopp, might want to look elsewhere to find a suitable player who can mark his presence at Anfield in the coming years.
