Dwayne Johnson “The Rock” reveals his admiration for Liverpool

Liverpool continued their momentum with a resounding 1-0 win over West Ham United thanks to a Darwin Nunez header goal at Anfield.

After an impressive showing against champions Manchester City on the weekend, it was another good performance from the team which saw them climb the league table to seventh position and four points off Chelsea, who are sitting at 4th.

If things could only get better after their impressive showing, they found out about an unlikely Hollywood superstar as one of the supporters of the club.

Speaking to TalkSPORT (h/t Liverpool Echo), Dwayne Johnson, while promoting his latest film, Black Adam in England was asked about where his football allegiances lie and the former WWE superstar did not hesitate in his answer.

“Do I support a team? Yes. The pride of Cheshire.

Yes, Liverpool.”

His answer has left a lot of Liverpool supporters in confusion as the Rock has previously laid his allegiances to a football team, but it was not Liverpool. Rather it was Macclesfield Town FC.

This would not sit well with many fans as supporting a club is deemed something which cannot be altered and be used in situations which are beneficial to a person.

Hence, many can question the Rock for his allegiance to Liverpool wherein he has mentioned both clubs as the pride of Cheshire in different instances.

One benefit of the doubt which could be provided to the Hollywood superstar is that Macclesfield Town FC officially wound up in 2020 and hence are not a football club anymore.

Macclesfield was wound up as a professional football club when a judge was told the football club owe more than £500,000 and he could not actually see the club repaying its debt back.

Hence, we can give The Rock some leeway in his latest admission of Liverpool being the club that he supports. Black Adam now joins a long list of illustrious Hollywood stars who have pitched their lot in with the Reds.
