“That’s a good one”- Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah on his record vs Tottenham

Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah speaks about his record against Tottenham Hotspur

Mohamed Salah scored twice in Liverpool FC’s 2-1 win against Tottenham on Sunday. His brace in the first half sealed the deal for the Reds who secured their first away win in the Premier League on the night.

A solid defensive performance in the second half, mainly from Ibrahima Konate made sure that Spurs were restricted to just one goal. The Reds weathered the late storm and can congratulate themselves for a hard fought win.

Jurgen Klopp’s men will hope to keep the winning momentum going, after suffering a slip early on in the season. Mo has now scored in four consecutive games across all competitions and is back to his usual self.

The Egyptian has a fantastic record against the North London outfit. In 17 appearances across all competitions against Spurs, Salah has 10 goals and an assist including a penalty in the 2019 UEFA Champions League final. Speaking of his record with the club’s official website, here is what he had to say:

“That’s a good one. It’s always a tough opponent, here or when we play at home. But I’m always focused on the game and trying to make a difference for the team. I did that today.”

After this win, Liverpool are in the 8th position on the PL standings heading into Gameweek 16 wherein the Reds face Southampton. Currently 15 points adrift from the top of the table, the Reds would hope to continue their charge towards the top four.

Mo back at his absolute best

Salah will be extremely crucial in Liverpool’s pursuit of a UCL spot finish. Nobody has scored more Premier League goals than the Egyptian since his time at Liverpool and he would hope to outperform the rest of the players in the league this time around as well.

All in all, Salah has 14 goals and five assists from 20 appearances across all competitions this season. Not bad for someone who is 30 years old and on the decline, as many rival fans claim. Time and again, Mo has proved his critics wrong, and he would hope to contribute to his level best to get the Reds a top-four finish.

His link-up play with Darwin Nunez looks great, and the pair seem to share a great camaraderie on the pitch. Hopefully, there is a lot more to come from the duo.

The Reds would want to ride on this confidence for the rest of their campaign and also play well in the UEFA Champions League this season.
