Liverpool will not pursue Kylian Mbappe with rivals Manchester United keen
According to The Mirror, Liverpool will not be in the market for French Superstar Kylian Mbappe who is rumoured to be unhappy in Paris, just months after signing a new bumper contract with Les Parisiens.
The summer transfer window was inclusive of a long extended saga of Mbappe moving to favourites Real Madrid from Paris St Germain but when the move fell through. It was also claimed that Liverpool had shown strong interest in the player before he signed the contract extension.
Hence, once the rumours of the forward being unhappy at the club started circling again, many would have expected Liverpool to go all guns blazing to sign the French International. However, it is fair to say that
However, such rumours are now deemed wide off the mark with Liverpool pulling themselves out of a deal and hampering any chance of signing Mbappe.
On the other hand, it is claimed that our arch-rivals Manchester United have entered the market for the £150million forward, after the recent incident involving Cristiano Ronaldo, which has pushed their plans to sign a forward in the coming transfer window.
Mbappe does come in the category of a generational talent and him, along with Erling Haaland, has been touted to be the next main rivalry, after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s era slowly but surely came to an end.
With the club forced to strengthen the midfield in the coming windows, it is debatable if the Reds will go big on another forward. This after successive transfer windows where they brought in Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.
It is our midfield which requires urgent attention and the recruitment staff is smart enough to acknowledge where the funds should be allocated, considering we do not have a similar financial resource as some of the other big clubs in England.
