Andy Robertson names Mohamed Salah as the best signing Liverpool have made during his time at the club

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson speaking to Pitch Side (h/t Liverpool Echo) has named Mohamed Salah as the best signing the club has made during his time at Anfield.

The Egyptian has been a key cog in Jurgen Klopp’s rebuild and is today one of the best players in world football. Robbo’s sentiments are understandable given the stature Salah will hold in the club’s history once he is done.

“We’ve had good ones to be fair, we’ve had a lot of good ones.

Obviously, Virgil was a big one, Alisson was a big one, but I think it’s got to be Mo with the records he’s set and stuff like that.”

Salah has been one of Liverpool’s best players since making his debut

Although it is correct that Van Dijk and Alisson have made a massive difference to our defence and the way we play from the back, it has been Salah whose transfer from AS Roma really helped us reach the top level.

In his 275 appearances for the club, he has scored a mammoth 170 goals which is a feat not achieved by many in the Premier League.

Out of the five seasons that he has played in the Liverpool jersey, the Egyptian King has won the Premier League Golden Boot in three of those seasons, so the numbers speak for themselves.

Salah has been criticised this season for his output which is mainly due to the astonishingly high standard set by the player and even with his current form, has 19 goal contributions in 21 games so far.

We are blessed to have a player in Salah, who is a role model to many and contributes to giving his all every time he puts on a Reds jersey.

Hence, it is pretty undisputable about Salah is the best signing in the Jurgen Klopp era and thankfully with the new contract extension, we would get to see the player show his capabilities for a few more seasons.
