Danny Murphy explains why Liverpool are a better fit for Jude Bellingham than Manchester City

Former Liverpool player Danny Murphy while speaking to TalkSport (h/t Liverpool Echo) has claimed that Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham would be better off choosing Liverpool over Manchester City due to a guarantee of playing time.

Bellingham is expected to be part of a bidding war between the top English clubs and Murphy believes between Liverpool and City, Liverpool provides a better career path for the midfielder as he probably would not be a regular starter in Pep Guardiola’s team.

“Would he (Bellingham) get in any team? At the moment I don’t think he would get in every team, no.

He is [perfect for Liverpool], and he’d play. The difference is if he went to City, for example, you could argue at the minute that he probably wouldn’t play.”

It was claimed by German outlet Bild (h/t Liverpool Echo) that Bellingham’s camp have communicated that they want a ‘concrete offer’ from Liverpool before the player makes a decision on his future.

There are rumours of a rift within the Borussia Dortmund squad due to the constant activity regarding his future which is reasonable considering the player only joined two years and is still in the initial phase of his career.

This also goes on to show the rise made by the Englishman since making his move to Germany and it does really feel that a big move for him is around the corner.

However, as said by Murphy, it is very crucial for him to realise how he wants the next step of his career and ideally, at Liverpool, he would be under the guidance of one of the best to develop potential and also would have regular game time to move up to the next level.

It would be one of next summer window’s biggest transfer sagas with many top clubs set to begin a bidding war for the highly rated England International who has been selected in the official England squad for the FIFA World Cup.
