Liverpool told why they could have advantage in Jude Bellingham transfer race
Writing on Twitter as quoted by Liverpool Echo, former Premier League striker Jan Age Fjortoft has revealed why he thinks Liverpool will have an advantage in the race for talented English midfielder Jude Bellingham.
The teenage sensation has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool but the Reds are not the only club interested in Bellingham. Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Chelsea have also shown an interest in the former Birmingham City midfielder.
Bellingham, who plays his football for Borussia Dortmund in Germany is arguably one of the best English talents going around and his stocks only keep rising meteorically with every passing game.
The talented midfielder had a stellar showing in England’s opener against Iran, a game in which he scored the first goal for the Three Lions. Bellingham was simply spectacular and was the best English player in the first half.
One thing that Bellingham has added to his arsenal of late is the ability to score goals which makes him an even more dangerous proposition. The English midfielder is only looking more and more like an unbelievable talent.
Many clubs around Europe are fighting for the signature of Jude Bellingham. Liverpool are keen on signing the player but there will also be other clubs who are desperate to sign the teenage prodigy.
Taking to Twitter, Fjortoft has revealed why he thinks Liverpool have an advantage in the race to sign Bellingham.
“Re: Jude Bellingham. My take: Dortmund- boss Watzke doesn’t want to sell him to “those kind of clubs”. Meaning “state-clubs. His mate Klopp is at Liverpool”
As we all know, Jurgen Klopp has a history with Dortmund. He has been one of the best managers at Signal Iduna park in recent seasons and Liverpool will be hoping that the familiarity helps them negotiate with the German club.

Bellingham seems tailor-made for Liverpool. However, the player needs to make a choice and it remains to be seen if he chooses the Reds after all. If BVB can be on the Reds’ side when it comes to a potential deal, then that’s a welcome advantage for us.
