LFC Transfer News: Liverpool are being linked with Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic
According to Mail Online (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are being linked with USMNT and Chelsea star Christian Pulisic who has been impressed with his performance in the FIFA World Cup.
Pulisic has seen his game time reduced tremendously over the seasons and is used from the bench more often than not. With eighteen months left on his current deal (Transfermarkt), many have shown interest in signing the versatile forward capable of playing anywhere up top.
Not to mention, he played for Borussia Dortmund – a club manager Jurgen Klopp continues to be a legend at – and has enough experience of playing in England for Reds fans to be fairly confident of his abilities.
Eyebrows were raised when Chelsea went for Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund, where towards the end of his spell there, he was not a regular starter.
Still, there were signs of a talented player with heaps of potential and hence Chelsea went on to spend £57.6m to acquire his signature.
His time at Chelsea so far has been bang average where on occasions, he has shown glimpses of what is capable of but has still not been able to cement his place in the starting eleven.
When the situation of not starting games starts to occur even after a change of managers, then it is pretty comprehensible that his time at Stamford Bridge has not worked best for all parties involved.
Hence, a separation is necessary which provides us with the perfect opportunity to scoop in for a player who would be available for a minimal amount and can still offer quality to the team, having spent three years in the Premier League.
It is claimed that Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United have also been keeping tabs on the situation of the player at Chelsea and would be ready to strike if an opportunity arises.
