Valencia offer Liverpool-linked Yunus Musah a new contract
Valencia’s American international Yunus Musah is a target for both Liverpool and Chelsea after starring for the USA at the World Cup. A guaranteed starter for his nation, his club plan to offer him a new contract after his antics at the World Cup.
Musah is a product of Arsenal’s Youth Academy and has been a part of Valencia since 2020. In 81 appearances for the Spanish club, he has a total of five goals and three assists across all competitions.
The 20-year-old has a release clause of €100m in his contract which runs until 2026 (Transfermarkt) and 90min (h/t Liverpool Echo) say that Gennaro Gattuso’s side, in order to see off any interests from other teams, are planning to give him a new long-term deal.
The central midfielder fills all the criteria Liverpool currently look to bolster in their squad. A young player who could turn up in the years to come, the Reds certainly need to look at the future when it comes to signing new players and Musah is definitely capable of that.

Moreover, the fact that the contracts of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita run out next summer will certainly mean that the Reds will need to secure their bench strength, or even get a starter quality player so that Liverpool can challenge their rivals in pursuit of the title in the next few years and beyond.
With Liverpool apparently leading the race to sign Jude Bellingham, the duo could possibly be the pivot for the Reds in the near future and beyond. However, a deal actually going through or not is a question only time will answer.
The Reds need to act swiftly if there is concrete interest, as a new contract for the player might mean that Liverpool need to pay a bigger price to secure his services from Valencia.

This World Cup has a lot of talented midfielders, and the Reds also eye Fiorentina’s Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat after his performances in this World Cup. Hopefully, the Reds actually sign a few players instead of just showing interest.
