Liverpool midfielder’s wife reacts to rumours regarding potential Anfield exit

Fabinho’s wife reacts to transfer rumours linking the Liverpool midfielder away from Anfield

Brazilian international Fabinho has not been in the best of forms for Liverpool this season. Plenty of pundits have raised questions over his long-term future at the club, leading to unnecessary speculation linking the 29-year-old with a move away from the club.

Even in the World Cup, Fabinho only featured in one

of Brazil’s five matches before they stood knocked out against Croatia in the Quarter Finals on penalties. Fab has certainly not been at his best and has been guilty of several mistakes at the back this season.

Ever since joining the club from AS Monaco back in 2018, Fabinho has been excellent for the Reds bar this season. A section of the fans make it seem like we are not appreciative of his efforts for the club over the years given the current spell of bad form.

The Reds’ links with Sofyan Amrabat in recent weeks might have fueled the speculations, but it is not so easy for Jurgen Klopp to move on from Fab who has been delivering 8/10 performances on a consistent basis based on a stretch of not being at his best.

Fabinho

His wife responded with a ‘laughing emoji’ on a post on Instagram linking the player with a move elsewhere. His contract at the club lasts until 2026 (Transfermarkt) and it would be a shock to see him move from Anfield before that.

Even though a move is highly unlikely, an ideal situation for the club would be signing a player who could give Fab a run for his spot in the starting XI. The player, for the most part of his career at the Reds, has been almost a direct inclusion in the starting squad due to the lack of depth in the position he plays.

It would be extremely unfair on Fabinho in case the Reds decide to move on from the player after a couple of bad games. Other players who have been far worse than he has been, enjoy much more freedom for their mistakes, and hence, the Reds should value the effort Fab has been putting in.

However, the fact that he is 29 means that the Reds could do with the services of another defensive midfielder. That doesn’t mean in any way for Liverpool to sell Fab. When on song, he is one of the best players in his position in the world.
