Jude Bellingham remains Liverpool’s number-one transfer target even after Cody Gako transfer hijack
According to a report by the Daily Mail, even after hijacking Manchester United’s deal to sign Cody Gakpo, there is no change in the Liverpoool’s priority transfer target. Jude Bellingham still remains the Merseysiders’ top transfer target for next summer.
In what could be a huge relief for the Reds, Dortmund will allow Bellingham to leave the club if his unconfirmed release clause of £60m stands met, and he could leave for a cut-price in the summer. The Athletic‘s £131m valuation is a lot for any club to afford, and hence, it comes as good news to see that the player could come the Reds’ way at a much cheaper price.
The 19-year-old was among England’s best players at the World Cup and got a goal and an assist in the tournament as well. Liverpool fans would remember that assist as clear as daylight. Jordan Henderson latched onto the pass from Bellingham, and what followed was an animated celebration between the duo flying out the Liverpool fans to Cloud 9.
In case Jude makes the move to Liverpool, he will in all likelihood be the successor to Hendo, who is a close friend of his. Moreover, in 112 appearances across all competitions for Dortmund, he has 19 goals and 21 assists with nine goals and three assists coming this season.
Hey Jude
The former Birmingham City midfielder also received heaps of praise from Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp not so long ago, and the German does not speak much about players from other clubs if their name is not Lionel Messi or any potential interest is not brewing.
Hopefully, Jude is the first signing Liverpool make in the summer and make a team for the future as the current lot is an ageing one, and we certainly need long-term replacements.
There is absolutely no doubt over the fact that he will make the team better, and the recruiters at the Reds need to put all in to get him on board, as he is a player, who has virtually almost stepped a foot inside of Anfield if you look at the hype the fans are building around him.
