Brighton & Hove Albion CEO reveals Liverpool have not submitted a bid for Moises Caicedo

Paul Barber, the CEO of Brighton & Hove Albion, has revealed that Liverpool have not submitted a bid for Ecuador international Moises Caicedo.

The Red are amongst the clubs eyeing the 21-year-old’s signature. He is amongst one of the brightest prospects currently in English football. The midfielder’s contract with the Seagulls expires in the summer of 2025 (transfermarkt).

Speaking to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs via Twitter (h/t Liverpool Echo), Barber disclosed that the side from East Sussex have not received any offers for Caicedo.

“I’m pleased to say we haven’t had any. Maybe they [#LFC] haven’t got my email because I haven’t seen any.”

The Ecuador international joined the Seagulls in the winter window of 2021 from Independiente del Valle. However, it was not until January 2022 that the midfielder broke out onto the scene.

In the current campaign, Caicedo has become a first-team regular for the East Sussex side. In the current campaign, he has made 18 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

The Ecuador international also represented his national side at the 2022 World Cup. While the 21-year-old started in every group stage fixture and scored against Senegal in Qatar, La Tri were unable to make it to the knockout rounds.

Liverpool have struggled to keep pace in the Premier League this season. We are currently sitting in sixth place in the English top-flight table. The recent 3-1 loss against Brentford was a setback.

Jurgen Klopp has been unlucky with injuries in the current campaign. We have lost key players, especially in the middle of the park at certain points this term. The likes of Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and others have all been on the sidelines at some stage.
