Arsenal join Liverpool in race to land Napoli’s Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Arsenal has joined Liverpool in the race to acquire Napoli’s star winger, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, making the competition for the 21-year-old left-winger more interesting. The player is having a magnificent season with Luciano Spalletti’s side and has nine goals and 12 assists in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.

It is absolutely crazy to think that not even a year ago, the player saw himself in the nitty-gritty of Russia’s Second-Divison before he moved back to his home country from where eventually Napoli saw the potential in him.

However, speaking of the transfer speculation, a report from 90min via Liverpool Echo speaks about the Gunners’ interest in acquiring the player’s services as they join the Merseysiders in the pursuit of the Georgian international.

Interest in Kvara is brewing

It is tough to understand both teams going up against each other for a left-winger to be fair. Gabriel Martinelli is doing a wonderful job for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this season, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah also available to play those roles whenever the need arises.

But having the option of an out-and-out left forward is certainly not a bad option, and one could argue that Kvara could in all likelihood, bench Martinelli for a spot in the starting line-up.

Liverpool, by signing Cody Gakpo earlier this window, eliminate the need for signing another forward as Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Darwin Nunez and obviously Cody are more than enough options for the Reds to choose from.

Napoli however, are least bothered by any team’s interest in the player as they stay firm in their decision of not letting the player go anywhere anytime soon. The player has a contract until 2027 (Transfermarkt) at the club and it doesn’t seem like the player could head elsewhere in this window or the summer.

More Liverpool News:

Liverpool’s immediate needs are certainly not a forward, and if the owners are serious about the club in any way possible, they should either sell the club or put in enough money into the club to get on board Jude Bellingham or other midfielders on the Reds’ radar.
