“Rebuild this team”- Liverpool icon hits out at fellow pundit over Jurgen Klopp comments

Liverpool icon Don Hutchinson hits back at Tim Sherwood over Jurgen Klopp future claims

Tim Sherwood, speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty Show in October talked about how Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is counting the days and his future at the club and how the German is on borrowed time at the club amid a string of poor results.

Fast forward to January, the scenes at the club are not very different and the manager still has to prove a point by getting the Reds beyond the line. Liverpool are yet to win a game in 2023 and that is certainly not good for our hopes of playing in the UEFA Champions League next season.

However, all it takes is a spark from somewhere to get the Merseysiders going and there is no person better than Jurgen Klopp in world football to take us through this turmoil of a situation. Former Red Don Hutchinson agrees, and also gave it back to Sherwood for his comments in October last year.

Speaking to Premier League Productions via HITC [h/t Liverpool Echo], here is what Hutchinson had to say about Klopp parting ways with Liverpool:

“That’s not going to happen,”

“It won’t happen. Jurgen Klopp has said it.”

“He won’t. He has already said it last week, ‘I will rebuild this team’, and the Liverpool fans will back him.”

Liverpool would be stupid to let go of Klopp

Hutch has got it bang on. The majority of the Liverpool fans will back Klopp. From seeing Mario Balotelli miss sitters to watching Jordan Henderson lift the sixth European cup and winning the Premier League as well, Klopp has taken the fans of Liverpool to Cloud 9 from a real state of misery.

The current poor form of the team is a result of injuries to key players and a lack of squad depth, rather than any shortcomings in Klopp’s management. The team have been hit hard by injuries and a busy schedule which is normal for a top team.

Parting ways with Jurgen Klopp at this stage would certainly be a major mistake for Liverpool. He is the right person to guide the team through this difficult period and bring them back to the top of the game.

He has the experience, the ability, and the support of the players and fans to lead the team to success once again and hopefully, it is just a matter of time before we go full throttle.

More Liverpool News:

The German manager’s ability to develop young players and build a strong team culture has been a key factor in the team’s success. Players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, and Mohamed Salah have all thrived under Klopp’s leadership and it would certainly be difficult for any other manager to replicate that.
