Aaron Ramsdale believes Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson is ‘disrespected’
Most trophies won as captain than any other captain in Liverpool history, Jordan Henderson will certainly go down as a club legend. However, the player is always on the receiving end of some slack from rival fans on social media for not being the most visually attractive player.
And moreover, in recent weeks, even Liverpool fans seem to get to that end of the spectrum. However, it is pretty much natural as with age, skill level obviously goes down and Hendo is probably not the same player as he was, say two or three seasons ago.
But the player always tends to get a lot of support from his teammates, whether it be Liverpool or England. Each player respects Hendo for the individual and the professional he is, and recently, Aaron Ramsdale spoke about him as well.
Speaking on The Fellas podcast, Ramsdale talked about how Hendo’s massively underrated by the fans but the players know his value and here is what he said:
“He gets so disrespected because he doesn’t play all the nice stuff. He runs like 12km a game, the way he talks to people on the pitch. The things he does do, he’ll play an unbelievable pass or cross, but it won’t really get talked about because he’s probably just done it once in the game.”
“He’s properly underrated at England by the fans, not by the players. They love him.”
Hendo and the Reds
Henderson has played an important role in the club’s rise to the top of English and European football, and his leadership, work ethic, and determination have been an inspiration to his teammates. However, despite all of this, it is high time that Liverpool starts to think about replacing him and begins the process of transitioning to a new era at the club.
Additionally, as the game of football continues to evolve, so do the demands on midfield players. The midfielders of today are expected to be more dynamic and versatile, with a greater emphasis on ball-playing and creativity.
While Hendo has been a solid player for Liverpool, it may be time for the club to look for a player who can bring these new attributes to the team. Even though Ramsdale’s take on the situation might come from a valid point of view, factually, Hendo is ageing and needs replacing.

Moreover, it’s also important to note that while Henderson has been a key player for Liverpool over the past few years, he has not been without his faults. He has had several injuries, which have limited his playing time, and he has also had some inconsistent performances on the pitch.
While it’s true that no player is perfect, it may be time for the club to look for a player who can bring more consistency to the midfield.
