Liverpool urged to try and sign struggling Bayern Munich star on loan

Paul Robinson urges Liverpool to sign Ryan Gravenberch on loan

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham Hotspur and England shot-stopper Paul Robinson has urged Liverpool to try and sign struggling Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch on loan for the rest of the season.

Gravenberch joined the Bavarian giants from Ajax in the summer and has struggled for game time in Munich. There is no doubting the Dutchman’s obvious potential but the presence of more established options.

One of the most highly-rated players to play for Ajax in recent times, Gravenberch was expected to follow a Frenkie de Jong-esque path to success. However, his move to Bayern has rather mirrored Donny van de Beek’s time at Manchester United.

It is understandable that a player doesn’t get much game time during his time at Bayern. After all, the German club have a plethora of talent at their disposal and it makes sense that the more established names are preferred.

Liverpool’s midfield woes has arguably been the most discussed topic in recent times. Every person going around seem to have an opinion on their struggles and the latest one to add to that list is Robinson.

The former English number one thinks that Gravenberch on loan is something that Liverpool must pursue as it benefits both parties.

“Gravenberch has not played much this year. He has been a bit-part player at best for Bayern Munich. If Liverpool can get him on loan, why not? It is an area that we all know they need to look at. I would not be against that move”

It is true that Liverpool moving for Gravenberch would make sense. The Dutchman will get regular game time at Anfield and the Reds will benefit from having someone as talented as the former Ajax man.

Maybe Gravenberch does need a manager like Jurgen Klopp. The German manager has made a lot of players world beaters and he would know exactly what to do to tap the potential of someone like the Bayern man.

Only time will tell if Liverpool indeed emerge as an option for Gravenberch. Let’s see how this particular transfer develops.
