Jurgen Klopp urges Liverpool to sign Chelsea’s World Cup-winning midfielder

Jurgen Klopp urges Liverpool to sign Chelsea star N’Golo Kante

According to Spanish news outlet El Nacional, Jurgen Klopp has urged Liverpool to sign Chelsea’s World Cup-winning midfielder N’Golo Kante for free in the summer.

Kante who has been a great servant for Chelsea over the years has missed almost the entirety of the current campaign through injury. There is no idea on when he would be back for the Blues.

The talented midfielder’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer and he is yet to pen a new deal with the club. His future has been up in the air for quite some time now with oscillating claims about the club’s intention to renew him.

Kante when fit is an absolute beast of a midfielder. However, it has been so long since we have seen his best version. There are question marks over whether the Frenchman would ever return to his best level again.

At 31 years of age, the Chelsea midfielder is not the youngest going around. Considering his explosive playstyle, it comes as no surprise that he has been plagued by injuries with his advancing age.

Chelsea are yet to make a decision on the future of Kante and a lot of it could be to do with how the French midfielder returns from his injury and plays until the conclusion of the current campaign.

If the Blues decide not to hand him a new contract, a 32-year-old N’Golo Kante is expected to be a free agent come the summer. This is where a number of clubs would come in as they look to sign him for free.

Should Kante manage to stay fit, he can be valuable for any team that signs him for at least a couple more seasons. He would add a lot of energy to the Liverpool midfield should he choose to come here.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Kante. Liverpool’s interest is intriguing but it will not be a surprise to see the Blues hand a new deal to the Frenchman.
