Apparently, three clubs – Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, stand interested in signing N’Golo Kante, with the Reds among them. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t Liverpool Echo), the Reds have a lot of interest in the player and view him as someone who could join forces with the club next summer.
Kante’s contract with Chelsea ends in June later this year (Transfermarkt) and could potentially be a valuable addition to the Reds given their own struggles with inconsistent performances. Moreover, after the 3-0 loss to Wolves on Saturday, the calls for reinforcements will get loud as ever.
This report claims that Liverpool could make it challenging for Barcelona to sign Kante, as he is the main candidate alongside primary transfer target Jude Bellingham for the Reds to strengthen their midfield.
With Barcelona and Real Madrid’s imminent interest in the player, it is important for the Reds to take things into their own hands if the interest is genuine and not let any other team come close to getting Kante on board.
The player is currently dealing with an injury issue and has featured no more than twice this season. That is probably the only issue which could arise if we decide to sign him as the 2018 World Cup winner is extremely injury-prone.
Liverpool already have plenty of injury-prone players on their squad and certainly do not need any more. But if we were to consider Kante’s contribution to the team, he could stand head and shoulders above a sizeable part of the team given that he has won almost every trophy in the top flight.
The experience he brings to the squad would certainly be immaculate and he can for sure help the Reds in this phase of transition.
Overall, Kante’s addition to Liverpool would be a fantastic boost to the team’s quality and could help to ensure that they remain competitive at the highest level for years to come in addition to helping them through the transitioning phase.
