“Keeps going”- Liverpool superstar gives his verdict on Merseyside Derby debutant’s baptism of fire

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah praises Stefan Bajcetic following Everton win

Ever since his Premier League debut earlier this season against Bournemouth earlier this season, 18-year-old Spaniard Stefan Bajcetic has been one of Liverpool FC’s most consistent players. In the Reds’ win against Aston Villa, the player scored his first Premier League goal as well.

Playing the Fabinho role in the squad replacing the Brazilian who was going through a lean patch, Bajcetic was really impressive in that position of defensive midfield. However, with Fabinho back in the lineup against Everton, and the injury situation with Thiago, Bajcetic got the chance to play an advanced role in central midfield against the Toffees.

Stefan’s on-the-ball skills, control and distribution in addition to his world-class tackling skills were top-notch and he won the Reds’ Man of the Match award as well. Moreover, doing so in the Merseyside Derby which could stand described as the epitome of pressure while playing for Liverpool, takes huge courage, and that is exactly what Bajcetic displayed.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah spoke about Bajcetic in his post-match interview to Sky Sports and here is what he said via the BBC:

“He’s a great player and person, he always tries to work hard. Since he started playing for us, he has been our best player maybe so hopefully he keeps that confidence and keeps going.”

Salah’s words of encouragement could have a profound impact on Bajcetic’s confidence and performance on the field. Winning the Man of the Match award against Everton was a fantastic achievement for Bajcetic, but the pressure to consistently perform at that level can be daunting for a young player.

Hearing such positive comments from a respected and accomplished teammate like Mo could inspire Bajcetic to push himself even further, both on and off the field. Knowing that he has the backing of his team’s top performers could inspire Stefan to elevate his game even further.

Overall, the impact of Salah’s words of encouragement on Bajcetic’s performance could be significant. By fostering a positive and supportive team environment, Salah could help the young player reach his full potential and continue to thrive on the pitch.
