Liverpool Fans warned not to get ahead of themselves in Jude Bellingham Pursuit
Former Liverpool player Phil Thompson has warned the Reds’ fans against getting too excited about the prospect of signing Jude Bellingham and cautioned that the transfer may not materialise.
Thompson expressed concern that Liverpool fans may be setting themselves up for a big letdown if the transfer falls through. He noted that many fans seem to believe that Bellingham is all but signed, based on his friendships with Liverpool players like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson.
Jude has been a Liverpool transfer target ever since his move to Borussia Dortmund from Birmingham City back in 2020. The 19-year-old is one of the world’s best at the moment, and if he keeps up the same levels of consistency, there is no catching him, for sure.

“All Liverpool fans, everybody thinks Jude Bellingham is going to sign. I’ve tried to tell a number of people. I do Q&A’s at Anfield and you ask 50 people in the room, who thinks Jude Bellingham is coming to Liverpool? 48 will put their hands up – you’ve got to get it out of your mind.”
“If he doesn’t [join], it could be the biggest let down for all Liverpool fans. Because he was mates with Trent, because he was mates with Jordan Henderson, people think it’s going to happen.”
