Liverpool target Enzo Le Fee wants to leave his current club in the summer
As quoted by the Ligue 1 website (h/t Leicester Live), FC Lorient star Enzo Le Fee, who is a Liverpool target, wants to leave the French club in the coming summer.
The 23-year-old’s current deal at Lorient expires in 2024 (Transfermarkt). He clearly mentions that he waited for a new contract from the club till December, but it never came.
Now, the French U23 international is eager to leave and try playing for a new club next season onward. Along with Liverpool, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham are all admirers of the attacking and central midfielder.
Here’s what Le Fee said when asked about his future (h/t Leicester Live):
“It’s time for me to leave. I am someone who likes challenges, risks too.
“I want to show that I am capable of playing at the highest level. I have a special bond with the club and that’s why I wanted to extend my contract at the start of the season. I waited for a contract offer from FC Lorient until December – it never came.”
If he indeed gets his wish, Lorient are not in a position to ask big money for him. The reason is the expiry of his contract, which is in 12 months’ time.
Le Fee has been a Lorient player throughout his youth career before making his senior debut in the 2018/19 season.
He is a central midfielder who can easily move up to the number 10 position or operate as a wide midfielder in a 4-4-2 formation. If we talk about this season, the Frenchman has made 29 appearances in all competitions, 16 as a central midfielder, mostly in a double pivot. He has scored five goals and assisted five.
In terms of attributes, Le Fee is an excellent passer of the ball, can dribble past people well and reads the game well defensively. Looking at his numbers in the Ligue 1 this season, he averages 2.1 key passes, 3.3 tackles and seven ground duels (52% win rate) won per 90 [Sofascore].
