Liverpool ‘not’ interested in Eintracht Frankfurt star Evan Ndicka
Liverpool FC’s search for defensive reinforcements may have taken a hit as reports emerged that the Reds do not show interest in signing Evan Ndicka. The Eintracht Frankfurt defender saw himself touted as a possible target for Liverpool, but GOAL reporter Neil Jones has revealed that the club has issued a ‘firm no’ in regards to the Frenchman. Ndicka, who is out of contract in the summer (Transfermarkt), sees himself linked with several top clubs across Europe, including Liverpool. However, Jones’ report suggests that the Reds have no interest in pursuing the defender.
This news may come as a surprise to some Liverpool fans who were hoping for a solution to the team’s defensive issues. The Reds have certainly struggled at the back this season, with injuries to key players and inconsistent performances from Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip causing significant disruptions to the team’s defensive line.
Here is what Jones told Redmen TV via ECHO on the Reds no longer standing interested in Ndicka’s services:
“Unfortunately, the conversations I’ve had about this player have been, I wouldn’t say a hard no, but a firm no,
He obviously looks like he’s going to move somewhere in the summer.”
“There’s a lot of clubs also linked in that story.”
“But I have to say that the people I’ve spoken to around Liverpool, around the club, have poured cold water on it and I believe them, to be fair.”
No Ndicka for the Reds
With the summer transfer window fast approaching, Liverpool fans were hoping for some positive news in regard to potential signings. However, it appears that Ndicka is not on the club’s radar, leaving fans to wonder who, if anyone, Liverpool will pursue to bolster their backline.
Despite this setback, Liverpool fans can take comfort in the fact that the club has a history of shrewd transfer dealings. In recent years, the Reds have signed defenders such as Andrew Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, and Virgil van Dijk, all of whom have proven to be excellent additions to the team.
While the news that Liverpool is not interested in Ndicka may be disappointing, it’s important to remember that the club is still likely to be active in the transfer market this summer. Max Kilman is a top centre-back who is linked with a move to the Reds as well.
With Jurgen Klopp at the helm, Liverpool will undoubtedly be looking to strengthen their team and build on their recent successes.
