While Amrabat has set his sights on a move to Barcelona, it appears that Liverpool has not given up on the possibility of signing the talented midfielder. According to a report from Foot Mercato, the Reds are yet to make a final decision on Amrabat, leaving the door open for a potential move.
Liverpool fans may recall reports from the time of the World Cup claiming that Jurgen Klopp had met with Amrabat’s entourage over talks of a potential move in either January or at the end of the season. While nothing came of those reports, the fact that Liverpool still show interest in Amrabat suggests that the club sees potential in the midfielder.
Amrabat’s performances in the World Cup were nothing short of exceptional. The midfielder played an instrumental role as Morocco secured a fourth-place finish in Qatar, earning him widespread praise and attention from top clubs across Europe.
Could Amrabat still move to the Reds?
Liverpool fans will no doubt be excited at the prospect of signing a player of Amrabat’s calibre. The Reds have a history of success in the transfer market and would hope to add to that list in the form of Amrabat and his potential signing for the club.
If Liverpool is able to secure Amrabat’s signature, it would add another dimension to the team’s midfield. With the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, and Thiago Alcantara already in the squad, Amrabat’s defensive work rate could make him a decent addition to the team.
Furthermore, Amrabat’s age and potential make him an attractive prospect for Liverpool. At just 26 years old, he has plenty of room to develop and improve his game, something that would be a valuable asset to the Reds as they look to build for the future.
As always, it will be up to the club’s recruitment team to decide whether or not to pursue Amrabat and how best to strengthen the team ahead of next season. A list of top midfielders see themselves linked with a move to the Reds, and only time will tell whether or not they actually join the club.
