Exit-bound Liverpool star Naby Keita ‘offered’ to AC Milan
It is only a matter of time before Naby Keita sees his contract over at Liverpool (Transfermarkt), and ends his term with the Reds as a free agent this summer after arriving at the club in 2018 from RB Leipzig. With much speculation over his future, Calciomercato via ECHO report that the player’s agent gave Italian giants AC Milan a chance to sign him up as a free agent.
To put it in simple terms, Naby Keita’s time at Liverpool has been extremely disappointing for both, the club and the player. The 28-year-old and his injury-prone nature have prevented him from getting a proper run of games resulting in inconsistent performances.
With the Reds paying £53m to secure his services, the Guinean international has certainly not lived up to the hype around his arrival at the club and to put it straight, he has been a disappointment. 129 appearances, 11 goals and seven assists later, the club won’t miss him in case he decides to move on.
Keita has missed a shocking 85 games at the Reds due to various injury issues, and any club wanting to sign him must obviously have a look at his injury record. While there is no doubt that he is a top talent, his being unfit more often than not certainly doesn’t help his cause.
Keita to Milan?
The player, since January, has been eligible to negotiate pre-contract agreements with other European clubs. It is almost certain that the player would leave the club, and many would even say that he has put one step outside of Merseyside already.
Speaking of his current scenario though, the player is currently injury-free and as fans, we would hope to give him a good send-off. With 12 league games yet to play this season, it gives Keita the opportunity to finish his spell at Liverpool on a positive note and earn the respect of the fans, which he has failed to do.
In case he decides to move on from the Reds to join AC Milan, he will join hands with former Liverpool star Divock Origi who also left the club as a free agent last summer to join the seven-time European champions.
As for AC Milan, they could be getting a real bargain if they do manage to sign Keita. Despite his struggles at Liverpool, there is still a lot of potential there. If he can stay fit and rediscover his best form, he could be a real asset to the Italian giants.

It’s a move that makes sense for all parties involved. Liverpool can use the money they would have spent on Keita’s wages to bring in a player who is more injury-free, while Keita can look for a fresh start elsewhere and try to rediscover the form that made him such a highly-rated player in the first place.
