Liverpool eye move for Chelsea star Conor Gallagher

As reported by The Independent via The Mirror, Liverpool eye a move for Chelsea star Conor Gallagher. The 23-year-old central midfielder could head out of Stamford Bridge given the Financial Fair Play (FFP) implications that could take their course putting Chelsea in an uncomfortable position.

It is obviously no secret that Chelsea need to balance their books and offload some of their players to meet FFP requirements. The Blues’ extravagant spending since Todd Boehly’s consortium took over the club has left them in a precarious financial position. Gallagher is one of the players who could be available for transfer this summer, and Klopp apparently sees him as a potential solution to Liverpool’s midfield problems.

Gallagher’s performances on loan at Crystal Palace last season were great. The 23-year-old had been a standout player for the Eagles, showcasing his energy, dynamism and work rate in the heart of the midfield. With this speculation of Gallagher being a target for Liverpool making the rounds, he joins Chelsea mate Mason Mount in having links with the Reds.

Liverpool will certainly need to add depth to their squad and bring in players who can make an impact. Gallagher fits the bill in this regard, and his energy and tenacity would be a valuable asset to Klopp’s team.
