Liverpool have concrete interest in Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister
According to Cesar Luis Merlo of Tyc Sports (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool have a concrete interest in Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister ahead of a possible move in the summer.
Along with the Reds, Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in the Argentine World Cup winner. The report states that the latter two have already begun negotiations.
Mac Allister’s father and agent is in England monitoring the situation. The 24-year-old is having an excellent season for Brighton and had an unforgettable World Cup campaign with his national team that ended in them lifting the trophy in Qatar.
The former Argentinos Jr. player is a versatile midfielder who can play in a double pivot, as a central midfielder or as a number 10. He is a fantastic passer of the ball, works extremely hard off the ball, can score goals, make late runs in the box and help the team defensively as well.
Liverpool are expected to undergo a midfield overhaul in the coming summer. They are linked with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount and Moises Caicedo, the latter of whom is currently playing with Mac Allister at Brighton.
In terms of the attributes the 24-year-old possesses, he seems like an ideal fit for us under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp. For a South American player, he is quite a calm person who generally prefers his game to do the talking.
It would be interesting to see how the owners of Liverpool fare up when there is no Champions League money to provide the buffer. With the current situation in the table, only a minor miracle would take us into the top four.

But, having seen them act like skint people even when the team was playing the highest level of football consistently, missing out on it for a season shouldn’t be an excuse to them for not spending.
