Liverpool midfield transfer target put up for sale by Serie A giants

Inter Milan put Liverpool target Nicolo Barella up for sale

In a major boost in their pursuit of Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella, Liverpool would stand pleased to know that the I Nerazzurri decide to put the 26-year-old midfielder up for sale. The Reds see themselves linked with the likes of Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Chelsea’s Mason Mount, but now it seems they are extensively monitoring Barella.

CalcioMercatoWeb via ECHO has reported that Inter Milan may be willing to sell Barella for a fee of €50m (£44m). This comes after the Italian international’s “somewhat disappointing performances” and “disagreements on the pitch with his team-mates”.

Liverpool’s interest in Barella could be a result of their need for a new midfielder. The Reds have struggled in the midfield this season, with injuries and poor form hampering their efforts. A player like Barella could provide some much-needed stability and creativity in the middle of the park.

Barella has been impressive for Inter Milan this season, despite their struggles in Serie A. He has played in 38 league games and has contributed six goals and eight assists.

Barella to Merseyside?

Liverpool will face stiff competition if they decide to pursue Barella. The likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have also been linked with the midfielder. However, the Reds have a good reputation when it comes to developing players and could offer Barella the chance to further his career.

Signing Barella would represent a significant investment for Liverpool, but it could be a wise one. The midfielder is only 26 years old and is in the prime of his career. His versatility would also be a valuable asset for Liverpool, as he can play in a number of midfield positions.

Liverpool want to sign Nicolo Barella amid rumours of Inter Milan wanting to sell the midfielder.

Liverpool have had to deal with a number of injuries in their midfield this season. Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all missed significant periods of the campaign. Signing Barella would give Liverpool some much-needed depth in this area of the pitch.

Of course, Liverpool will need to make a decision soon if they want to sign Barella. The midfielder’s stock is rising, and if he has a good rest of the season, his price tag could increase even further. The Reds will need to act fast if they want to secure his signature.

The midfielder would be a valuable addition to their squad and could help the Reds challenge for honours next season. Whether they can get a deal over the line remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the situation.
