Jude Bellingham to make a decision on his future amidst Liverpool interest
According to German publication Ruhr Nachrichten (h/t Liverpool Echo), Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham is ready to make a decision on his future amidst interest from Liverpool.
The English international is one of the world’s most in-demand players and has been on Jurgen Klopp’s radar for a while now. Having proven his worth in the Bundesliga, the time might be rife for Bellingham to return to England with Liverpool.
The Reds are currently on the lookout for midfield reinforcements and cannot afford to ignore a revamp next summer. Bellingham is a piece that can serve them well for a decade or more and would be a sound investment should he live up to expectations.
The 19-year-old has some of the world’s top clubs after his signature and make no mistake it would be a coup for the Reds to land him. They will find out soon what his plans are given that Bellingham is set to announce his future.
An excellent ball carrier, with an eye for goal, Bellingham would be an upgrade over anything Liverpool currently have on their roster. The lack of control in the middle of the park has often seen them surrender the initiative and fail to make the most of opportunities on the field.
The 2-2 draw against Arsenal showed that the Reds are still contenders and can upset any side on their day. Refreshing the squad will bring with it new players eager to prove a point and that will certainly aid Jurgen Klopp’s rebuild.
For now, we will take reports of Bellingham making his decision with a pinch of salt. While Liverpool fans will love nothing more than to see the Englishman hold up the red jersey, it would be prudent to let it first happen.
Whether we land Bellingham or not, the midfield needs more than one major addition. Hopefully, Klopp will be handed the player he needs to fast-track Liverpool’s resurgence.
