Arsenal also admire Liverpool target and Jude Bellingham alternative Ryan Gravenberch
According to the Times (Subscription Required), Liverpool have Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch as one of the midfield targets for the summer. Arsenal also admire the Dutch international.
After pulling out of the transfer race to sign Jude Bellingham, the Reds are looking at alternatives to bolster their midfield department when the summer window begins.
Gravenberch is among the names on the list of midfielders linked with the club. But, league leaders Arsenal are keeping an eye on the 20-year-old as well.
After starring for Ajax last season, the Dutchman moved to the German capital last summer. However, things have not gone his way so far.
He has only played 701 minutes of football in all competitions for the reigning Bundesliga champions. That is very less for a quality player like him.
Gravenberch is a fantastic and versatile midfield player who can either operate as a number eight in a three-man midfield, can play in a double-pivot or has played as a number 10 at times as well.
The 20-year-old is technically very good on the ball, can carry the ball forward with no fuss, is physically and aerially strong and reads the game well offensively and defensively.
The lack of game time he is getting at Bayern is no negative mark on how good a player Gravenberch is.
Having bottled the transfer chase of Bellingham, Liverpool need to find the best possible alternatives. Gravenberch has the talent, age and experience to do well if the Reds sign him this summer.
