Liverpool target Daichi Kamada to leave Eintracht Frankfurt this summer
Liverpool stand given a boost in their pursuit of Daichi Kamada after the midfielder informed Eintracht Frankfurt of his intention to leave at the end of the season. Kamada’s contract with the Bundesliga side expires this summer (via Transfermarkt).
The Japanese international has been attracting interest from several top clubs in Europe, including Liverpool and Manchester United. The Reds have been eyeing Kamada as a potential midfield addition for quite some time now, and his versatility is something that could obviously benefit Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Kamada has the ability to play as an attacking midfielder, second striker, or even a central midfielder. The 26-year-old’s ability to play in different positions could certainly expand Liverpool’s midfield choices and offer Klopp greater strategic options.
In addition to Liverpool, Manchester United is also said to be monitoring Kamada’s situation. The Red Devils are in the market for a midfielder, and Kamada’s technical ability and versatility certainly make him an appealing option.
Kamada to the North-west of England?
However, Liverpool could have the upper hand in this transfer battle, given their strong track record in recent years and the success they have achieved under Klopp’s leadership. Kamada has been in fine form this season across all competitions.
In 38 appearances overall, he has 13 goals and five assists to his name. His performances have been instrumental in Eintracht’s push for European qualification this season, and his departure would be a significant loss for the German side.
Liverpool’s interest in Kamada is hardly surprising, given the team’s struggles in midfield this season. The Reds have been without several key players due to injuries, and their midfield options have been stretched thin as a result. Kamada’s arrival would provide Klopp with a much-needed boost in this department, and he could be an excellent addition to the team’s squad.
One of Kamada’s biggest strengths is his ability to create chances and score goals from midfield. Besides, he is an extremely creative player who is comfortable on the ball and has an eye for a pass. His technical ability could certainly make him a long-term replacement for someone like Thiago.

With United also sniffing around the situation, it becomes extremely crucial for the Reds to move quickly in case the interest in the player is genuine and if Klopp intends to bring the Japanese international on board at the Reds. Hopefully, Kamada’s National team-mate Takumi Minamino has only good things to say about Liverpool from during his stay at the club until last summer.
