According to Atlantico.net, Premier League clubs including Liverpool are set to battle it out for talented Celta Vigo wonderkid Gabri Veiga.
Gabri Veiga is a name that has caught the attention of many clubs across Europe, and it is no surprise to see Liverpool, Tottenham, and Manchester United interested in the 20-year-old La Liga prodigy.
Liverpool are among the clubs reportedly interested in Viega. The Reds are in the market for a new attacking player who can also operate as a midfielder. The closest name linked with a move to Anfield is Mason Mount, who has a similar profile to Veiga.
Liverpool will have to move fast if they are to sign Veiga, as he has many suitors, including Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. The La Liga prodigy could opt for a project, but the pull of Madrid cannot be discounted at any stage.
Tottenham and Manchester United have also joined the chase for the La Liga prodigy, each keen on paying his release clause. The Reds will not want to fall behind in the race for the Spaniard.
Tottenham could also lose out on a Champions League place, which may play its part in pursuing talents like Veiga. That said, there is a huge chance that the Reds miss out on top-flight European football as well.
The La Liga prodigy has a release clause of €40 million, which may not prove an obstacle for clubs trying to pry him away. Liverpool is in the market for a new attacking player who can also operate as a midfielder.
There is no doubt that Veiga is the kind of player who’d fit our bill really well. He could settle into the team and be the creative presence that our midfield is so desperately crying out for and be a huge player for us in the next decade.
However, with so many clubs interested, it is not going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination. Let’s see how this one goes.
