Conor Gallagher determined to stay in London amidst Liverpool links

According to Liverpool Echo, Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is determined to stay in London amidst links with Liverpool in the past few days.

Amidst the pullout from the Jude Bellingham transfer race due to the cost involved, the Reds were linked with a move for Gallagher this summer.

The England international, who has struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge after doing well on loan at Crystal Palace last season, has a contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2025 (Transfermarkt). His loan move with the Eagles is just another evidence that he prefers staying in England’s capital.

The 23-year-old is a decent player who can play the box-to-box role and add goals to the team from midfield. He works hard and has good passing and ball-control qualities.

Having seen the state of the Liverpool midfield this season, it would be nice if they sign players who are more than ‘decent’ at their jobs.

For example, the Reds have long-tracked Mason Mount for a summer move. He is way better than what Gallagher can produce (with all due respect to the latter), irrespective of the dip in form this season.

So, it might not be a thing if the 23-year-old is not keen on a move to Merseyside. For sanity purposes, Liverpool should walk away from their interest in him too.

In terms of decent news over the past day or so, the Reds have made contacts with the agent of Ryan Gravenberch, who could be available for a price of around £25m in the summer. Now, that is what we call an excellent player with a very high ceiling.

More Liverpool News:

After the big Bellingham cock-up, Liverpool have to go back to their best when they used to buy players at cheap prices from various clubs across Europe. The budget is always an issue here, hence they cannot buy the premium, gold-standard players who are readymade to make a difference to our team.
