Ryan Gravenberch refused to comment on his future amidst Liverpool interest

As per Christian Falk of Bild (h/t Daily Mail), Liverpool target Ryan Gravenberch refused to comment on his links with the Reds after watching Bayern Munich exit from the Champions League.

The 20-year-old, who has been one of the leading transfer targets for Liverpool in the last few days, has struggled for game time in his first season with Bayern. He was an unused sub in both games of the Champions League quarter-final tie against Manchester City.

Along with the Reds, Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in the Dutch international. It remains to be seen whether Bayern would be ready to sell the player after only one season.

Gravenberch is a fantastic young player who was a superstar at Ajax before moving to Germany. He is a versatile midfielder who can operate in any position across the central regions of the field.

Although his stock may have taken a slight hit after not playing much for Bayern, it must be still intact on the positive front given how good he was for Ajax till the end of last season.

Liverpool could do with the physical presence and quality the 20-year-old possesses in midfield. The Reds’ midfield has lacked both attributes during the majority of this forgettable campaign.

Because he has only been at Bayern for one season, the happening of his move to Anfield may depend on the mood of the German champions.

To be fair, if Gravenberch is not considered a regular starter with the current options around, how would he become that when Bayern add Konrad Laimer for free in the summer?

So, it would make sense for the European giants to let go of the 20-year-old and recoup the money they spent to sign him in the first place.
