Liverpool identify Khephren Thuram as their Jude Bellingham alternative
According to The Express, Liverpool have identified OGC Nice midfield star Khephren Thuram as an alternative to Jude Bellingham in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The midfield is an area that requires much investment at Anfield. Long have the calls for a revamp fallen on deaf ears, leading to a season that can only be deemed as disastrous at best.
Jurgen Klopp and co appear to have admitted that the squad needs freshening up. It promises to be a pivotal summer on Merseyside as the gaffer seeks to build his next great Liverpool side.
Jude Bellingham was seen as the poster boy who can revolutionize the Reds’ midfield and the English international was heavily linked with a move to Anfield. Unfortunately, it was reported earlier this month that the Reds have decided to end their interest in the 19-year-old.
With or without Bellingham, the Reds need several midfielders to be brought in. They have now turned their attention to Nice’s Thuram who continues to do justice to his legendary family name.
Son of the dominant French defender Lilian Thuram, Khephrem is steadily establishing himself as one of the best young midfielders in the French top flight.
Klopp’s system usually relies on a core of strong, agile and physically dominant central midfield that provides a solid base for other players in attack and out wide to express themselves.
Energy and fight are the mantras at Liverpool and Thuram ticks these boxes perfectly. The 22-year-old has two years left on his contract at Nice and appears ready to take his talents to a bigger scale.

Comparing both players, it is clear that Thuram lags behind Bellingham in several aspects despite being three years his senior. However, at 22, there’s enough time for Klopp to mould his talents and make him a pivotal cog of the Reds’ outfit.
Other midfielders on the Reds’ radar include Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and Mason Mount, Joao Paulinha of Fulham and Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister.
