Liverpool, as per the Daily Mail, have been ‘forced into a change of strip’ for their Premier League clash against West Ham United later today (April 26).
The Reds travel to London to take on the Hammers in an important league game where they can keep their slim top-four hopes alive. But wearing the white away kit could bring bad luck for them.
Liverpool have apparently been forced into wearing the dreaded white kit for their away clash against David Moyes’ side. They have a horrible record in the away strip, losing all four games they have worn it in.
This includes away trips against Arsenal, Manchester United, AFC Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest. Of course, such things can also be psychological. One can’t say Mohamed Salah, or Virgil van Dijk or anyone else becomes a bad player because of what jersey they wear. That would be ridiculous.
An away game is already tough as it is considering the players travel long distances and don’t play in the comfort of their own stadium with the majority support of the home fans. The Hammers are currently 14th in the league table with 34 points from 31 games.
Their aim will be to ensure safety. For Liverpool, the aim will be to do their part and win every game between now and the end of the season.
Then, if we make the UEFA Champions League, it will be a bonus. There is always the chance of making fifth and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League – a competition we haven’t won under Jurgen Klopp.
We currently have 50 points from 31 games thanks to our min-run of wins recently. It is nine less than Manchester United’s tally, who are in fourth and have a game in hand. This will be the perfect time to record our first win in the white kit this season.
