Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah reveals the positive relationship he has had with boss Jurgen Klopp since joining the club six years ago.
The Egyptian King has been nothing short of a revelation for the club. His numbers and the impact he has had on the trophies we have won is uncountable.
All that is only possible if a player has a positive relationship with the manager he is working under. It seems like things have been rosy between Klopp and Salah.
Here’s what the 30-year-old said on this subject to Rio Ferdinand in a Between the Lines programme at BT Sport (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“We have a good relationship since I came here. We’ve played together for five or six years so we know each other very well now. We appreciate each other and we respect each other which is the most important thing.”
Salah picked the Champions League as his favourite trophy won at Liverpool amongst all the silverware and accolades he has lifted at Anfield.
Having broken Robbie Fowler’s club goal-scoring league record, incidentally against Manchester United last month, the Egyptian’s name is forever etched in the folklore of this club.
Although we overuse the word legend and great, Salah will rightly be called that not just at Liverpool, but in the world of football for decades to come.
Having made a slow start to the season, the 30-year-old has picked up form in the last few weeks. Despite this being his below-par campaign, he has scored 27 goals and assisted 11 in 44 appearances in all competitions. Such are his standards that those numbers are considered underwhelming.
If he continues his good form and helps us win the remaining seven league games, the chances of finishing in the top four will be alive.
He must be relieved to see Diogo Jota back in scoring form. Once that happens, Liverpool get two proper goal-scorers who can trouble any opposition in the league.
