“Today I couldn’t see a difference”- Jurgen Klopp gives verdict on Liverpool’s comeback win vs West Ham

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool FC’s comeback against West Ham United was the best reaction this season

According to The Liverpool Echo, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes his side showed their best reaction all season to going behind against West Ham United last night.

The Reds fell behind to a Lucas Paqueta goal early on but responded well to the setback. Cody Gakpo drew the visitors level before Joel Matip headed home the winner in the second half.

The win was ideal in our pursuit of a top-four finish but far from easy. We did get lucky on some decisions but the players refused to give up and did not let their shoulders drop on the night.

The reaction was not lost on Klopp who has presided over some absolute collapses this season. With West Ham fighting for their lives to avoid relegation, it was never going to be an easy game.

The Liverpool boss praised his players’ body language while reflecting on the win. Liverpool are now on a three-game winning streak in the Premier League, adding impetus to an outside chance of breaking into the top four.

“That is by the far the best reaction we’ve had to a setback this season. Usually when we’re 1-0 down this season it looks like that is it. Today I couldn’t see a difference. It was all good, body-language wise.”

Famed for their never say die mentality, the Reds’ have looked like a pale shadow of their vaunted selves this season. The fighting spirit also appears to be on the rise with the club failing to crumble against Nottingham Forest at the weekend as well.

Despite being far from their best, the Reds are bringing back the winning habit. Klopp could not have asked for anything better as we strive to end the campaign on a high.

“We won it, so that makes it the perfect night for us.”
