Fabrizio Romano uses Robert Lewandowski example to give Liverpool hope in signing Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch

Fabrizio Romano has revealed in his exclusive CaughtOffside column that Liverpool have contacted Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch’s agents.

Now, the Dutchman, 20, was signed just last summer from Ajax Amsterdam. Of course, Bayern signed such a young and talented player with the future in mind. If he isn’t starting now, he would in the future.

Hence, if Liverpool make an approach for the Bayern star, there is every chance that the Bavarian giants won’t be open to the move. But Romano has offered Liverpool fans some hope in that regard.

He has cited the example of Robert Lewandowski’s transfer to Barcelona last summer as an example that a player could force an exit from the Allianz Arena even if the club don’t want to let him go.

Gravenberch to LFC a wise move?

The Poland international joined Barca for a fee of 50million Euros plus add-ons when he still had a year left on his deal at Bayern. Writing for CaughtOffside exclusively, the Italian transfer expert stated:

“Liverpool remain interested in Ryan Gravenberch and recently had contact with his agents. Bayern Munich want to keep the player, but they will discuss his future soon, and we saw last summer with Robert Lewandowski that, even if a club doesn’t want to sell, if a player wants to move a deal can happen.”

With the way things are going, Liverpool don’t need one midfielder. They need several. Ryan Gravenberch shouldn’t be the only signing we make in that position but he would surely be an exciting addition here.

At 20, the former Ajax Amsterdam star will only get better with time and could flourish in our all-action midfield under expert tactician Jurgen Klopp. It could also be a place where he gets more playing time and recognition, considering the state of our current midfield.
