Simon Jordan labels Jurgen Klopp a “bully” in the aftermath of the referee incident
Talksport pundit Simon Jordan labels Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp a “bully” for his comments and antics during and after the game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Such has been the blown-over proportion by which this story has run, we all know what happened between Klopp and the referees in that game.
In the press conference ahead of the game vs Fulham, the German accepted that his angry reaction towards the fourth official following Diogo Jota’s winner was uncalled for. He also cleared the conversation he had with the on-field referee Paul Tierney and admitted that this is a box he should not have opened.
Jumping on the gun to pile the criticism on the Reds boss, here’s Jordan (h/t Talksport, via Daily Mail):
“Jurgen Klopp is one of the best managers the Premier League has produced for some time. But he is a bully at times and I think some of the best managers are bullies. I think you would want your manager of your team to be a person who was capable of carrying his weight and pushing themselves around.
“(But) it was unnecessary and unacceptable his little antics running up to the fourth official. Ironically, karma intervened and he pulled a hamstring or whatever but what was more concerning was the allegations he made about the official.”
This is a balanced view from the former Crystal Palace owner. He brandishes the bully tag on Klopp but explains why some of the best managers have that nature in them while managing a big football team.
In this instance, although Liverpool fans might be slightly disappointed at what Klopp did to the fourth official, we are happy that our manager is simply not lying down to accept any decision made by the officials. Moreover, the German is an emotional character. It all adds up to that sort of reaction.
Klopp got a touchline ban for berating the linesman during the game against Manchester City back in October. He has now been charged by the FA for his comments on Paul Tierney after the 4-3 win against Spurs at Anfield.

Though we like the emotions spilling out, we also want Klopp to be in the touchline for all of the Liverpool games. For that to happen, his reactions to moments that go against him can be a bit understated.
