Liverpool will have to pay €30 million for OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo
Jean-Clair Todibo, who plays for OGC Nice, will be available for €30 million next summer amidst interest from Liverpool, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
The French national has caught a lot of people’s attention with his performances at the Allianz Riviera side. While Les Aiglons have tied the 23-year-old down until June 2027, they are open to the idea of selling him in the upcoming transfer window.
Todibo joined Nice from Barcelona in 2021. The Blaugrana will receive a percentage of the transfer fee if the Ligue 1 outfit sell the centre-back.
Liverpool are not the only Premier League outfit eyeing the French national. English top-flight rivals Newcastle United and Manchester United are also interested in acquiring his services.
The Reds want to get the 23-year-old to bolster the competition in their backline. As things stand, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate look like Jurgen Klopp’s preferred partnership in defence.
The Holland and France internationals have started the majority of the matches together in the last few weeks. Apart from the two, the Anfield side also have Joel Matip and Nat Phillips at their disposal.
Todibo joined Barcelona in 2019 but failed to make a mark at the Camp Nou side. Subsequently, after a few loan spells away, the French national signed for Nice.
At the Ligue 1 outfit, the defender has thrived and gone from strength to strength. The 23-year-old has been in fine form this season, even though the Allianz Riviera side have been a bit underwhelming.
